About Gervase Ministries

The ministry was founded by Phillip & Christie Gervase in 2007.  In 2010, we formally organized.  As part of the formal organization, we incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia and received formal recognition as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization the same year.

We are an outreach and evangelistic ministry, which includes street ministry, prison ministry, and evangelizing.  We also organize events for the body of Christ along with many other areas of ministry.  Our ministry spans denominational lines as we are all part of the body of Christ.  To promote the Gospel, we give out Bibles, tracts, training materials & and offer training for disciples.  From 2007 - 2011 we had hats for homeless campaign.  Due to the increasing needs for evangelistic ministry, we have decided to direct people to the Rescue Mission who is better equipped to handle their needs.

About Phillip Gervase

Phillip is a licensed ordained minister who does outreach and an Evangelist.  He is bi-vocational and works in the financial sector in addition to being a minister.  He has a passion for the lost and for those in bondage.

Phillip grew up Roman Catholic and then fell away from the church as a teen.  In 2007, after 2 1/2 years of God working in his life, Phillip finally realized he was a sinner and needed a savior.  Immediately after his conversion he felt called into ministry.  He did not accept the call lightly.  He did not understand why God would want him in ministry.  He was very new in the belief and did not see himself as a minister but followed the leading of God.  Now ministry is part of who he is.

Phillip says, "God is everything to me.  Before, I never knew what it was like to walk with the Lord.  He has and continues to completely transform my life.  Before my conversion, I lived for other things that now mean nothing to me.  I worshiped a god of my mind that never existed and that would not send me to hell.  I was wrong and the things I lived for were empty, however now I am filled with the joy of the Lord because of the truth that set me free.  Since I have surrendered my life to Him, He has blessed me with things I never thought possible. He wants to bless his people if they just turn, believe in Him, repent, and let Him take the reins in their lives.  It was hard for me to give them up at first, but I have never known such a life as I have now, because God is now in charge.  I do this to share my absolute belief and faith in Jesus Christ. I also do this, because I love each and every person and I truly believe what the Bible says. That if you do not have Jesus in your heart and repent of your sins, you will go to hell because of those sins.  I do not want that for anyone."

About Christie Gervase

Christie is a 4th generation preacher's kid.  She grew up Church of God and she both knew and feared the Lord.  Christie always had a compassion for people. In middle school she was voted upon by her class to be a natural helper.  That is someone for the kids to come to with their problems.  The school trained her and she fulfilled that roll.  When she graduated she went to school to be a counselor.  She has two degrees, the first in mental health and the second in social work.  She was in the graduate program at Radford University for social work but due to a disease that struck her she had to leave for medical reasons. The disease was incurable was there was no treatment other than just trying to help slow the destruction.  This was the second incurable disease Christie had gotten.  The first was a heart disease but it was controlled by medicine.  With the new disease, Christie was too weak to continue.  However, God used this for his glory and completely healed her of both.

Now Christie is an outreach minister for Gervase Ministries and our social worker.  If you are interested in reading some things that she has written, visit the Christie's Corner tab.
